Katy Perry for ghd hair straightener’s ‘Scarlet campaign’ gets a little 1920s Manhattan glam

She’s hot and she’s cold… the next thing you know… Katy Perry has been announced as the new face of ghd hair straightener in a multi-year global partnership collaboration with the ad campaign shot by David LaChapelle.

    If you love Katy Perry and ghd, Christmas has come early for you. The two have teamed up again for a new ghd advertising campaign which sees Perry in series of 1920s Manhattan Night glamour themed shots.

    Photographed by David LaChapelle with Perry posing in a mock New York City fire escape, the Scarlet campaign announces the new limited edition Christmas 2011 collection. And although Katy looks gorgeous, we’re lusting after the ghd Scarlet Collection!
    In store now the collection is made up of two gift sets:
    The ghd Scarlet Collection Deluxe version (pictured below) comes with the limited edition red plated ghd styler, red satin clutch, sectioning clips and a travel hairdryer. I have been secretly hoping that the likes of ghd would release a hair dryer to complement their stylers – because if they can make a hair straightener that doesn’t do too much damage to their hair, surely the smarty pants behind the brand could do the same with a hair dryer.
